The Village of Ford Heights is considered “ a family full of families”. And like you, during these last few weeks we’ve been focused on doing all the things we need to do to keep our families safe and healthy regarding COVID-19 coronavirus. During this time, the Mayor, Village Officials, Fire Department, Public Works, and Cook County Sheriff department are committed to being supportive, especially during these time of uncertainty.
We believe that our community and families will pull together and care for one another as we always have. We are actively looking for ways to help, heal, and restore. We continue to monitor the rapidly evolving situation. We’re following guidance from federal, state and local agencies, including the CDC and other health organizations.
Here are the steps we’re taking to protect our residents
- Commonly used areas more often, including cashier stations will continue to be cleaned with disinfectant solutions daily. Employees have been educated on the virus and modes of transmission.
-We are also considering having Village Hall Conference calls to keep communication and promote safety.
-In order to communicate effectively, please text 31996 the word “fordheights” or Click here to register your cell phone number. This text system will allow us to send real time updates as we received them.
For Our Residents
-Encouraging our residents to follow the CDC’s suggested hygiene practices to reduce the spread of the virus.
-Recommending that our residents also practice safe food handling at home.
In everything we do, we’re guided by our faith in God, values of our heart, and our Purpose. And above all else, we will be there for our community when they need us most.
